HP Pavilion 15-au091nr (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All,

My HP Pavilion 15-au091nr had a spill afterwards when you turn it on the caps lock light blinks 5 times slow hen 3 times fast over and over with a black screen and  the screen backlight turns on. After 2 min:30 secs exactly the laptop displays the Startup Menu

F1 System Information - pressing does nothing, keyboard num & caps lock doesn't work  CTRL ALT DEL  reboots pc

F2 System Diagnostics - pressing does nothing, keyboard num & caps lock doesn't work  CTRL ALT DEL  reboots pc

F9 Boot Device options -  Displays Boot Manager and the boot options work

F10 BIOS Setup - pressing does nothing, keyboard num & caps lock doesn't work  CTRL ALT DEL  reboots pc

F11 Recovery - Starts System Recovery

ENTER - Continue Startup - Boots to Win 10. and runs fine

The info i found said system board problem so I got a replacement system board and I am getting the same results.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the replacement board gives the same error the keyboard / touch pad does not work do you think that is why it takes 2  1/2 minutes to start and goes to the Startup Menu instead of booting to Windows . If I replace the keyboard do you think the issue will correct itself?

Thanks for any ideas.

It could most likely be a hardware challenge.
