Notebook stopped charging and once the battery ran low it went to sleep and now it wont charge or boot.
When I press the power button the power supply light flashes three times. But the notebook does not turn on.
I have tried each of the guides the Virtual Assistant suggested: Power reset, Verify the AC adapter and checked for damage, tried a different wall outlet, tried a spare power supply that is designed for the computer, none of which solved the issue.
Since the battery was working but not charging it seems this is the same issue reported by these other users:
But in each case it looks like support don't have a published answer? This seems like a common HP defect? Is there a solution for this from HP?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The laptop doesn't turn on, so I am not able to run the software described in the provided link.
When I press the power button the power led (next to where the charger plugs into the laptop) blinks 3 times.
I have another laptop with the same charger, so I have tried using that charger but I get the same result, both chargers work in the other laptop (so it is not the charger).
I think there is a problem with the laptop charging circuitry, not the battery on the basis that the battery was working fine for a while even when the laptop stopped charging, it just eventually powered down because it was not being charged any more.
Could you confirm how this issue was resolved for the other posts that I referenced, as they appear to be describing the same problem?
Many thanks,
Tom
