Bang and Olufsen

My computer recently started overheating after it was on the charger over night. I took it off. The key oard is lighting up but the screen stays black. I did the 12 second recommended reset and still nothing. I have unplugged it. The fan sounds like it's still running and feels warm underneath. What are other things I can try before I have to take it to a tech. I have only had this laptop about a year and a half. It was the newest model at the time and I need it for my photography work. It's crucial for work.

Thank you.

Hi@EGrecco385,

We reviewed your post and I understand that the  Notebook is not Powering ON,

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps

Do you see a light at the place where the charger connects to the laptop? If yes then it indicates that the charger is all fine.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.

F6 + Power Button

  • CMOS Rest ( combination of windows button and letter 'V' then push the power button ones and release the windows and letter 'V' after 5sec

If the laptop does not power on then please continue with the below steps:

  • Disconnect the charger and remove the battery out.
  • Connect only the battery and check if the laptop powers on.
  • Likewise, remove the battery out (if removal battery ) and connect only the charger and check if that helps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I'm also having this issue, I've removed the internal battery, and the cmos battery and held the power button to clear any bios issues as suggested. I also removed the ram and tested in another G6 laptop and it does work. The mobo will beep if I power on w/ out the ram but when the ram is in, in either slot, there's no beeps or sound. The CapsLock led blinks white 5 times and stops then the fan slowly speeds up until it's spinning full speed and it doesn't stop unless I power it off. I also created a bios usb boot disk and performed both the win+b / Win+v options but neither worked. My usb drive lights up red when being accessed but when I'm trying to flash the bios via the win+b/Win+v, there is no activity, the usb led never blinks not even once. Is the mobo infact DOA?
