I’ve tried hold the power button for 15-30 seconds, pressing f1, f10, esc. I’ve tried unplugging the power cord. Nothing is working the only thing that happens is the power button light turn on and off.

Hi @Amari3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP computer only shows the power button light turning on and off, and none of the key combinations (F1, F10, Esc, etc.) work, it likely indicates a hardware-level issue or a firmware/BIOS failure.

Let’s go through a few more advanced steps to try and revive it:

1. Try a CMOS Reset (if accessible)

If your model has a removable battery or a CMOS reset pinhole:

  • Disconnect power and battery (if removable)
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds
  • If there’s a CMOS reset pinhole (usually near the bottom or under a rubber foot), press it with a paperclip for 10 seconds

If your model has an internal battery only, skip to the next step.

2. Attempt BIOS Recovery

If the BIOS is corrupted, try this:

  1. Insert a USB stick with the correct BIOS file (downloaded from HP’s site)
  2. Hold Windows + B (or Windows + V) and press the Power button for 2–3 seconds
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding the keys for 10–15 seconds
  4. If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
