Hello, I have an HP 14-dq0052dx notebook that I purchased at the end of 2023.  A few weeks ago, I set a BIOS admin password and have completely forgotten what it may be and have exhausted all possibilities.  I did purchase a new laptop, but would like to try to salvage that one.  It doesn't generate any sort of reset code like a lot of the info online says, after three failed attempts it just locks the PC until I power cycle.  There has to be a way to reset that, right?

A quick community search for the terms BIOS & Password finds all these posts >here<, which are mainly closed.

 

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

 

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

 

4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.

 

Therefore, this topic is being locked.
