Hi @saabrina,
Welcome to HP Forums! I have read your post and wanted to help.
I understand that the cursor is stuck on the top left corner. Did you use the touch pad or an external mouse? Was the screen a black screen? Or the laptop could start up normally, but when you used an application, the cursor could not move on the screen?
Also, please provide the prodcut number of your laptop.

Hi @saabrina,
Please try to uninstall the touchpad driver from Device Manager. And download this one: sp72142.exe. Reinstall the downloaded touchpad driver.
If the cursor cannot move, you may need a USB mouse to peform the reinstallation.

• Example: HP Pavilion DV2-1209AX or HP Deskjet 3000 Printer CH393A
2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
• Example: Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit
3. Error message (if any)
• Example: ""Low disk space"" error in Windows
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
• Examples: Upgrading your Operating System or installing a new software; or installing new hardware like a printer, modem, or router.
