Hp Pavilion 510-a010
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
I just bought my computer 10 days ago. Yesterday, Hp Support Assistant prompted me to download 5 updates, but in the middle of downloading the first update it froze. I restarted the desktop by pushing the power button. Now it when it starts up the screen won't change to the part where I'm supposed to type in my password. And the symbol for the Internet connection has a red x on it.

That is indicative of an operating system problem.

Did you make recovery media?

You might consider using HP Recovery Manager to return you PC to its factory delivered state.

Press the power button from an off condition and immediately tap the F11 key.

That should invoke the recovery manager. CHoose factory image recovery and follow the prompts.

Take a look at the following information at the support portal for your PC.

Yes, Thank you so much System Recovery worked! The problem was that my computer was set to download updates automatically. When I downloaded them manually, they got downloaded twice which confused my computer. Bios and Restore point did not work, so Recovery was my last option.
