The latet Bios update on the driver site will not install. I have the previous November update installed no problem,
It doesn't even seem to have the same file types loaded within the sp84107.exe (15.4 MB). It gets hung up on the seperate flash.exe inside, and won't finish install.

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting issues while doing BIOS update on your HP Envy x360 Printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- Provide the complete model number or the notebook product number
- When did this issue start?
- Did you do any hardware or software changes?
- Are you getting any error message?
- How are you updating it, from HP support assistant or from HP website?
Meanwhile
Perform Power Reset your Laptop
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
-
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
-
With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
-
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
-
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
-
After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.
-
Your laptop has been reset. After a power reset, it is a good idea to run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers. See Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 😎 and Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) for more information.
Click here and refer the steps mentioned in the HP Document for more assistance.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

Same laptop same issue. Can't install BIOS update. After further investigations I noticed that the link HP provides tries to install an insyde BIOS. My laptop came with an AMI BIOS. Hopefully we can get the BIOS update thing sorted out, otherwise i'd have to return. Contacted HP support last night and they tried to make me pay for advanced tech support. Obviously, I didn't do that becuase I know that they wouldn't be able to do anything since the update isn't correct.

My model is HP ENVY x360 - 15z-bq100 CTO
The BIOS that is loaded on the HP site is not working according to several people on this forum now.
I'm running a 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM in addition to the standard options. I have the latest updates from Windows, and AMD. I have tried several Hard reboots. The file still does not work. I think if someone actually looks at what is loaded in the HP driver system, they will see it's completely different than what has been loaded the last 3 Bios iterations.
I haven't received a DM about this issue yet.

I have the same problem reported by other users. The system came with BIOS version F.13 and the new version F.05 is not intalling. There is no error reported.
The C:\SWSetup\sp84107\CrisisFolder\HpBiosUpdate.log ends with:
2017-04-12 00:22:26 EfiBiosUpdateLibEntry(): Result is 0x0
2017-04-12 00:22:26 Setting Flash Completion Status
2017-04-12 00:22:27 BIOS Update Process Complete
2017-04-12 00:22:27 BIOS Update Successful
But when I go into BIOS and check the version it is still F.13, the previous version.
I also tried using the boot menu and going into System DIagnostics and there is an option for Firmware Management. When I navigate down to the only BIOS version available for update, it is the current version F.13.
Basically, the installer supplied by HP does not work.
HP, this issue was first reported on 1/5/2018. Users cannot update the BIOS. When are you going to fix this?
