I got this laptop around december last year, and I rarely ever used it. Now that I wanted to use it again after a longer time, I got a screen saying the BIOS is getting recovered. After it finished my laptop wouldn't turn on at all anymore. When I press the power button the LED keeps blinking, it doesn't stay on. I tried doing the BIOS and CMOS reset with the keyboard shortcuts but nothing happens. Is there anything left I can do before trying to open it?

Happened to me on another laptop ... if you read or google this then there's so many people who have had this issue but I have not seen a "kudos" yet for solution.
The solution would be easy as disconnecting the cmos battery but I guess you're here as well because there's no such battery to be found in your laptop

@Nik222 To confirm, did you follow the below steps to reset the BIOS, if not, please follow the steps to resolve the issue:
And @SameSameProblem Is the concern on your device resolved? let me know if you've got any concerns.
Click here to perform a hard reset on your device
If the issue persists, after the above steps, try the below:
-
Turn off the notebook.
-
Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.
-
With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key
and the B key at the same time.
NOTE:
On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key
and the V key.
-
While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key
and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).
The HP BIOS Update screen displays, and the BIOS update begins automatically. This might take several minutes, and you might hear additional beeping sounds.
-
If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps. If the issue persists after repeating the steps, skip to the next step to Download a replacement BIOS file.
-
If the Power light turns off, the notebook has turned off because the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds only.

I followed all the steps multiple times, no screen comes up nor do I hear any beeping sounds. I also downloaded the BIOS replacement file and tried it that way, no luck either. The power button stays on for 20-30 seconds max before it keeps blinking. I think my last option is to open the notebook and disconnecting the CMOS battery like @SameSameProblem said. Or is there anything else I can do at this point?

@Nik222 If you've gone through all these steps and yet the issue persists, I'm afraid that's a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
