Hello!
I have been trying to get an old HP Pavilion Entertainment PC DV-9500 Intel (Product number RL653AV) up and running again, and I was successful until it came time to update the BIOS. HP removed drivers and bios files for this laptop, so when searching for a BIOS on the internet I found this post. I updated the computer and all seemed to go well. The updater program shut down the computer, and when it rebooted again It beeped 4 times, then 3 times after that then it kept beeping for 3 times. This happens on every boot.I first tried basic things like removing the hard drive and using different RAM with no success.
Is there a way to flash a bios on this machine without an operating system and in this state? I found a YouTube comment that suggested opening the bios updater exe in 7-zip and taking the bios file out and putting it on a USB and holding windows and b on boot. It seemed to do the same thing but with an additional beep at the start, but after 20 minutes nothing happened.
Is there anything I can do?
Thank you
