Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In preparing for Windows 11, I converted my ProBook 640G2 hard drive to GPT and also upgraded from TPM 1.2 to TPM2.0,  Since that upgrade, I find that I am unable to boot into USB, not even using the BIOS F9 boot menu.  Even trusted USB sticks which I use regularly no longer appear, not under UEFI devices or Legacy devices.  I went back through the bios, F10 Setup, and verified that Boot from USB is checked(enabled), and also changed the UEFI and Legacy order to put USB ahead of Windows Boot Manager.  Regardless when I boot, the laptop doesn't see or use the USB drive and, as I said, if I press F9, no USB drive is listed.  Once I selected boot from file and I actually saw a file name with the prefix USB...  but selecting it did nothing -the laptop just hung.   The BIOS is N76, version 01.04.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?  Many of my repair tools use bootable USB sticks and I can't operate without the ability to boot from USB.

Can you create a new USB bootable device, via: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

Is the bootable image on this USB memory-stick recognized by the BIOS? If any memory-stick is recognized, I presume that one generated by Microsoft will be the one that is recognized.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I had tried a number of usb sticks but none of them showed up in the F9 bootable devices list.  But, as I was looking for a Windows install flash drive as you suggested,  it occurred to me that this laptop had been used in a dirty environment and I think the user used to complain about the usb drive.  So, I got out some contact cleaner and sprayed it good.  I've never had to do that before and would never have thought of it.   Seems like that did the trick because I now have the option to boot from usb again.  I have an image backup to do when I'm finished the upgrade so that will give me another change to verify that I can boot from usb.
