HP Laptop model and OS: 15-ac180tx running Windows 10, 64-bit.
Start-up error message: System Board (00A) - System Board CT Number (Missing or Invalid), on a black screen.
Behaviour changes: Computer runs VERY slowly, and does not charge while in use. When in use the power light beside the power plug is white, and the battery drains. Will charge when turned off.
Recent hardware changes: No hardware or system board replacements or changes.
My research: Web page https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/System-Board-00A-System-Board-C... tells me that this problem is not uncommon and has repeatedly been escalated. DaveW4 asked this question on 17 Nov 2018. While he appears to have received some private messages about this, I cannot find the final outcome or fix beyond that it can only be fixed by an HP Service Centre.
My context: I cannot locate an HP Service Centre near my remote Western Australian town.
My request: Please tell me how to fix this problem, because I expect that after the escalations in 2018 a solution to this not uncommon problem must be available. Thank you.
