When I turned on my laptop this evening, it would not boot up.  I got a message to press the esc button, but when I did that nothing happened.  This happened once before last year, and I was told that the f12 light was red so it was locked up.  How do I unlock the computer so I can use it.  It has Windows 10 Pro installed on it, and works fine normally.  Could someone tell me what the procedure is to get the laptop to boot up now?  Thankyou!!!

Hi @jaypeetea,

I understand you are unable to boot your HP notebook after the recent update. Don't worry as I'll try my best to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the PC?

Have you performed any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

Was any update/reset process interrupted, recently?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard Reset

Please click on the below links once you identify the blink code and resolve the issue:

Computer Does Not Start and Emits a LED or Beep Code
