Hello @caspar137

 

Those systems can come with either one or two memory modules. But your system with the AMD E2 only has one 4GB stick. You would need to determine if the motherboard actually has both slots wired to the motherboard or not.

You can find several tutorials online on how to look that up for your version of Linux, or you might have to simply open the case and look inside.

 

If you have both slots, you can add up to 16GB total (2x8GB). IF only one slot, 8GB (1x8GB).

Or you can also find other brands of ram cheaper, but I don't know what specific models are compatible. AMD can be more finicky than Intel.

An alternative is Crucial. They guarantee their ram will work on HP systems.

This ram from Crucial would work on your system...
