Hello. I wanted to purchase and install in the M.2 slot instead of Intel Optane New SSD M.2 .
The model I picked up: GIGABYTE NVMe SSD [GP-GSM2NE3256GNTD] 256 GB. Will it fit my laptop? Will there be a speed cut on my M.2 port?
P.S. I have already completely disabled Intel Optane (both systemically in Windows and physical).

If your laptop had an Optane module in the M.2 slot it is NVME compatible and the SSD you ask about will work fine. You might consider removing the HDD from the laptop while you install an OS onto the NVME M.2. Not absolutely necessary; it just makes the process a little easier. You can put it back in after the NVME is configured and working the way you want.

I've heard some people say that neither the Windows installer nor the Linux-like installer can see the new SSD. And they had to initialize the SSD using adapters via the USB interface. Is this true?

Only on computers with the very newest Intel 11th gen processors. Yours is 7th gen and you will have no problems like that.

What about M.2 slot keys? I'm not sure if my laptop has the M key. The Intel Optane specification specifies the B & M key. This also means that the slot can be either M, either B or B & M.

Not sure where you are getting your info. M.2 is M.2 and the slots are all the same. Its the SSDs that are B, M B +M and all fit into an M.2 slot. Optanes are small capacity NVME SSDs but tend to be B + M (3 prong) but larger capacity NVME M.2 tend to be M keys and 2 prongs. Either fits into an M.2 slot. I have installed M.2 SSDs into dozens and dozens of laptops. You will have no problems. If you get stuck, post back here and we will work it out.
