Microsoft Windows 11

I recently received my late father's HP 15-dw1083wm, I believe called a "Stream".  I updated the memory to 32gb and wanted to upgrade the SSD.  Not knowing the difference on the m.2 SSD things I researched on the net and I *thought* I understood that a m.2 SATA SSD has 2 notches while nvme has 1.  The stick (128gb) that is in the laptop has 2 notches in the same places as the upgrade I ordered - Kingston RBU-SNS8154P3/256GJ1.  The upgrade is not recognized by the BIOS.  I looked online and it indicates for the upgrade that is nvme, yet it has the 2 notches (M and B) as the original.  I *thought* from my research that nvme only had 1 notch.

So at any rate, can someone perhaps educate me a little more and see if the upgrade will be recognized?

Thank you in advance.

Its specs

           https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06915476

It has  128 GB SATA M.2 SSD. You can replace it wit 1TB or 2TB M.2 SATA SSD using compatible drive such as  https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/ssd-860-evo-m-2-sata-250gb-mz...

Machine won't work with M.2 NVMe SSD's

Thanks!   I *thought* I had gotten a sata m.2 based on it having 2 slots on the edge connector like the ones in your link, but since it didn't work I'll try one of those you linked to.

Thanks again!

All I could afford for now was the 256gb Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA - works great!   Thank you so much!
