Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I saw processors with FC-BGA1356 sockets. I was just wondering if I could somehow swap my Core i3-7020u with like a Core i5-7260U  or a  Core i7-7560U?? Will this work properly without having any issues? I mean It could possible have an effect on battery life due to the fact that the higher processors draws more power. But, will it work???

Sorry you can't. CPU is soldered to the system board. You have to pay for new system board which has

(a) Motherboard,

(b) CPU / Processor

(c) dGPU if available

(d) New Windows license (you can't reuse old license)

Because all 4 (or 3) above components are on one piece of hardware called system board.

Regards.

On this model series, as with most current laptops, the CPU is soldered onto the motherboard. Hence the "socket" is listed as BGA (ball grid array) which is not a socket at all but the way the CPU is attached to the board. Theoretically if you have high tech equipment it might be possible to swap a cpu but the cost and difficulty of doing it would not be worth it.

Service Manual

See pp. 16-17 where each different board includes the processor.
