WOW i wish i would have known this useless keyboard on this thing would have a permanantly fixed setting of 30 second timeout on the keyboard backlight. I use this laptop for graphics/web and cad design after work hours in bed in the dark. what was HP thinking not allowing us to toggle the keyboard backlight on? im so upset with this thing. is there any way to get a modded bios or have this laptop enable the backlight to stay on? i think this will be my last HP product if i cant get this worked out. this 1700 dollar laptop is useless without this ability

Hi@useless_spectre,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing keyboard backlight issues with the HP Spectre X360 Laptop. I apologize for the Inconvenience.

I have a few recommendations

  • If the backlight stays on for only a few seconds, the backlight timeout setting might need configuring in the BIOS.
  • If there is not a setting for the backlight timing in the BIOS, this behavior might not be supported on the notebook. For more details please click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
