i will be getting an HP envy 15 touch with a 256 GB SSD on it with windows 10. How can I add my old 1TB HDD 7200 rpm harddrive to that laptop if it already has windows 10 on it also or will it not be a problem. I would of couse like to boot from the SSD.

Yes, I know it has room for a HDD but as on my first reply: you need a set of brackets, screws, cable because HP won't supply by default. Motst likely part numbers for them:
NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket or hard drive connector cable. The hard drive bracket and screws are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 812686-001. The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 812697-001.
Regards.

There is something with signature which may cause a minor problem but should be ok. All you need is to buy a right parts for bracket and cable for the HDD because HP won't supply them as default.
Do you know exactly what is your new machine ?

I wish I could give you a model # but all I have is W9C44AV_1 hope that helps. I recovered the HDD out of a envy 15 360 x that could not be repaired by HP so they gave me coupons for a new one. I ordered it with the SSD and was told there is room to add the 7200 RPM HDD in the machine.
