Hello,

I'm planing to buy a new hard drive for my laptop because my current one is in warning status

i found this one :

HGST Travelstar 7K1000, 1TB, SATA-III, 7200 RPM, cache 32MB, 9.5 mm

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W02KN0922

and wanted to know if i can use it since , i've read the laptop manual and it reads that it supports only 1tb 5400rpm hard drives ?

Will any 1tb 7200rpm hard drive work with my model ?

Thank you !

Hey there @Xsander,

I also looked at the Maintenance and Service Guide for the HP Pavilion g6-2006sq Notebook PC and I see that you are correct, your specific Notebook supports up to the 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm hard drive only. It doesn't support the 1TB, 7200 RPM.

I hope that this helped!

Thank you for using the HP Support Forums! Please do not hesitate to come back if you have any further questions.
