Hi @rory_bergin
It is not advisable to use third-party models. Now you need to know the model of the notebook because it may need more than 65 watts to function properly and to check the voltages.

The HP charger is 65w and so is the 3rd Party charger. Is the charger manufacturer lying about 65W, or is HP pretending that the 3rd party charger isn't providing 65w? I want to use the 3rd party charger as it has a USB-c port so I can charge two items at once. Its also an international adapter so I should only need to carry one item instead of several.

Please indicate the laptop model. You may have a 65-watt charger, but check the voltage. If the voltage does not match, you should not use it. It can cause serious damage to internal components.
