Hi:

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, the notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

NB_MSG_Parfait_1_4_Win10_855133-004 (hp.com)

Since your notebook has an Intel® Core™ i5-7300HQ processor, those will normally support 2 x 16 GB of memory.

You can run this command to see if your notebook will support 2 x 16 GB of memory:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

If the report indicates 33,xxx,xxx then you can install 2 x 16 GB of memory.

The max speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.

You can install DDR4-2666 CL19 memory, or DDR4-3200 CL22 memory, but it will only run at 2400 MHz.

I ran the command and it said it was 33554432 Kilobytes, it's 32 GB.
Thus, I think I will be able to use 2x16 GB and 2400 mhz ram. Thank you for your help.

You're very welcome.

Use DDR4-2400 CL 17 memory.

If you can get two of these chips, they would be what I recommend:
