Hello
I am getting 601 Error whenever I start my laptop, I tried to follow the steps in Hp Assistance, but the error is still being displayed.
I bought my laptop in January 2018, I can't understand why did the battery has failed so fast
Find attached the logs from the Hp Software Diagnostics on windows ( the Result is always Canceled ) :

I also installed a free software Battery care to check the Battery status it gives me these metrics :
I want to know why does the Calibration counter is equal to zero? and can that be a reason for the issue because I usually keep my battery on the 70% max charge option by enabling the battery care on the BIOS screen?

Hi@HBenFadhel, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Did any software changes or updates happen on your laptop after which the battery stopped charging ?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

NOTE: You may skip any steps that have been performed by you already.

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop.

Now let us uninstall the battery drivers and reinstall them. The following steps will help:

  • Open the device manager.
  • Expand "Batteries". Right click on the ACPI battery drivers and select uninstall. If there are multiple entries of the ACPI battery drivers then uninstall them all.
  • Close the device manager.Restart the laptop.
  • The Windows operating system will reinstall the battery drivers while restarting.

It is a good idea to download and run a BIOS update for your laptop via this link. The charger must be connected until the BIOS update is complete to avoid any power interruptions due to battery draining out.

Post a successful BIOS update,  you may check if the battery charges fully. If not then please perform the steps as described in detail in this HP document. These steps help in testing and calibrating the battery.

NOTE: Please skip the steps mentioned in "Test and calibrate the battery using HP Support Assistant".

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello,
I updated the BIOS of my laptop now after charging the battery to 100% and executing a "System extensive TEST" , I found out that first time the Battery check Passed, but when I executed it from Hp software diagnostics software It showed a WEAK result ( see attached screenshot )
Now I am encountering an odd behavior in my battery sometimes it drops from 70% to 0% randomly and the Discharge Counter is now showing 4/30 like the number of times this happened
Does this mean that after 30 discharges the battery would die and become useless that's really a shame because the laptop is just 2 years old only?

Hello @Praveenbv

Thanks for the instruction.
Removing the battery and replug it i am afraid that if I do that the battery would die for good ( because it happened with my old HP Pavillion Laptop and it's sad that it's happening again whit my current PC)
Also I Can't understand the issue it's giving false stats I left it at 40% now it 75% and then it drops to 0%

These are the TEST logs results from the Battery : check test from BIOS screen :
