I bought this laptop a few months ago and have been trying to find information on what upgrades I can do, but I can't find anything specific. I know it has the i7-3540M dual core cpu and the AMD Radeon HD 7570M. They do fine. I would like to upgrade the cpu to a quad core i7 with 8mb cache like the 3820QM or 3840QM. Are they both compatible with the motherboard? I also am having a hard time finding out what gpu upgrades are compatible. I would like to be able to get a better casual gaming experience, specifically with Farming Simulator 19. How do I find out what gpu options I can upgrade to?

Firstly please use the following manual

           http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03659338.pdf

You can upgrade CPU using the list on page 114 of the manual BUT you have to see a list on page 107 to find out which System board you need.

Note: machine is very old now. Finding parts would be very hard. eBay may help.

Regards.

Thank you for that information. I see that the cpu I asked about is compatible, but the gpu is not removable which I did not realize before I made the post.
