Hi @Nehasam,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 experiencing issues with the fan and the touchpad!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Fan Issue:

Check for Obstruction:

  • Ensure there is nothing physically blocking the fan vents. Dust buildup can cause overheating and increased fan noise. Use compressed air to clean the vents carefully.

BIOS Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS update available. Sometimes fan issues can be resolved by updating the BIOS to the latest version.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant tool to check for any fan-related diagnostics or updates.

Temperature Monitoring:

  • Use a third-party program or HP diagnostics to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures to confirm if overheating is causing the fan to run excessively.

Touchpad Scrolling Issue:

Driver Update:

  • Update the touchpad driver through Device Manager or HP Support Assistant. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause erratic behavior.

Touchpad Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and check for any settings related to scrolling. Make sure that gestures are set correctly.

Check for Malfunction:

  • Ensure there is no physical damage to the touchpad surface. You might perform a visual inspection or a system touchpad diagnostic test.

External Mouse Test:

  • Connect an external mouse to check if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to the touchpad.

Touchpad Reset:

  • Disable and re-enable the touchpad from Device Manager to see if it resets the behavior.
