A while ago I changed the ssd, and I remember it being a little different, like some things just stopped working, but now it won't switch to tablet mode and the screen keyboard won't show up even though I have it on in settings, any idea what can I do to get my laptop like it was?

Can you verify that all of the settings are as in the HP document at the hyperlink below?

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04856156

There is a sensor or switch in your notebook that lets tablet mode work when the notebook's screen is rotated past a certain point.  This will also only work when the setting for tablet mode is enabled.

The onscreen keyboard - check the settings. if it is set to only when no keyboard is attached, that means only when the sensor or switch has provided a logic signal to the OS to let it know that the notebook is in tablet mode, So until that issue is resolved or you set it to always, you won't be able to use the virtual keyboard onscreen.

You  may have inadvertently  disturbed the sensor or switch component's connection when you replaced the SSD.  When you open it to carefully inspect the area that you worked in when replacing the SSD you may see what is causing the issue.

For a certain reason, I'm sure that nor the sensor or the settingsis the cause, do i need to install or upgrade any drivers after installing a new ssd?

HP Recommended

There are no additional drivers required when installing an SSD.

The only requirement is that it is compatible with the notebook's hardware and BIOS firmware.

Windows provides the drivers that are needed for it to be recognized as present and utilized by the OS.

"For a certain reason, I'm sure that nor the sensor or the settingsis the cause"  is not easy to understand and is a bit vague, Can you rephrase that?

Hi, @Adam928r6

Did you install the Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver that you need for that function to work?

The Intel Integrated Sensor Solution Driver enables the Accelerometer, Gyroscope, and eCompass sensors that provide rotation control functionality typically used in detachable and convertible system. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system.

I didn't, do you have a link for that? Also, is there any other drivers or anything I have to install after switching to a new ssd?

HP Recommended

I gave you the link to the gyroscope driver in my reply above.

If you didn't install any drivers after you installed W10, I can guarantee you that there is probably at least half a dozen devices that need to have drivers installed.

Look at your device manager.

If devices need drivers there will be an Other devices category with a list of devices having little ! marks next to them.

You can download the drivers you need from your notebook's support page.

There is another option to installing drivers...your notebook should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility...you will also need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

I tried the driver and it said that my os is not supported, I'm gonna try the cloud thing and tell you it it worked.

HP Recommended

Ok.

When you get those OS not supported messages, you can usually get the driver to install by manually installing it from the device in the device manager and browse to the unpacked driver folder.

But you need to know what driver installs the gyroscope and the only way to know that is to know the hardware ID's for the devices that need drivers.

You can learn about that at the link below.

How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager (howtogeek.com)

Try the cloud recovery tool and then after you get W10 installed, you can upgrade to the latest version of W10 by clicking on the blue Update Now button at the link below if you don't see the W10 22H2 update in Windows Update.

Microsoft has a troubleshooter that can possibly  automatically resolve the issue.
