Pavilion 15-dk0056wm Gaming Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I would like to add an additional SSD to my Pavilion 15 (15-dk0056wm) gaming laptop. I have seen others say that there is an empty slot for one and others say that I would need to buy some bracket that is very hard to find (part number L56898-001).

I would like someone to explain to me in simple terms exactly what I would need to do to ADD an additional SSD to this laptop. What parts would I need to procure in order to add an additional SSD? If the aforementioned bracket is necessary, why is it necessary and what does it connect to?

This laptop is unmodified and straight out of the box. I have zero experience with upgrading computer hardware, so please be as simple as possible.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

If you are adding a SSD Hard drive you do not need the cable or brackets.

You can refer to the Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06377664 for a list of compatible SSD Hard drives

Thank you
