Dear sir/madam 

   I want to know that how much storage of m.2 ssd , I can installed  ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️

 

 Also I want to know that can I installed this ssd in my HP Notebook 15 bs 164 tu : 

Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SATA 2.5 inch (6.3 cm) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-77E500)

It has 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA now.

 

1. HDD to SSD: Yes, you can replace existing 2.5"SSD and Samsung 870 EVO series is a good choice.

2. M.2 NVMe SSD. You can add M.2 NVMe SSD to your machine using

               https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E2T0BW/

               https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p5-ssd

       Or similar from reputable vendors.

 

In theory the max is huge but do to physical size limit you can use up to 2TB

But in the manual guide pdf 

  There is written that only TLC SSD  support in HP Notebook 15 bs series

TLC is a cell type, not a bus. Most SSDs are TLC (whether SATA or NVMe), although some are QLC (which I do not recommend). The ones listed are based on system configurations that HP sells.

 

I personally recommend the SK Hynix Gold P31 for NVMe due to its performance to watt ratio, making it an excellent choice for laptops.

Hi, @12131 

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot only supports SATA SSD's not NVMe.

 

You will find several posts on this forum where folks have installed NVMe SSD's by looking at the slot since it only has one key, and none of them worked.
