Hola.

Hi:
I believe that even with the BIOS update the notebook is only going to report 3 of the 4 GB of memory as usable.
Yes, you can install the T7200 processor in your notebook.
See chapter 1 of the service manual for the list of supported processors:
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
Here are the info and exe files for the last BIOS update HP released for your notebook.
Since the files were written to be run on WXP or Vista, I have no idea what will happen if you try updating the BIOS in W7 or newer Windows operating systems.

Hi:
That won't matter.
Your notebook's mobile GM945 chipset can only support a maximum of 4 GB of memory, so even if you install a 64-bit OS, you will get the same result.
A 64 BIOS OS uses more memory and storage than a 32-bit OS does.
Not double, but more.
In order for a 64-bit OS to see the full 4 GB of memory the chipset has to support more than 4 GB of memory.
I learned this firsthand when I installed a 64-bit OS on a HP nc6400 notebook with the same chipset as yours, 4 GB of memory and it still only recognized the 3.xx GB of memory.
