Add 2.5" SSD to ENVY x360 15M-CN0012DX

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing an ENVY x360 15M-CN0012DX. The model only comes with a 256 Gb PCIe SSD.  From the service guide (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06140010) , it looks like there's a 2.5" HDD bay in the cn-0xxx series. I would like to add a 2.5" Crucial MX500 SATA SSD for expanded secondary storage. I'm looking for help with the following two questions:

1. Does the particular model that I would like to purchase support adding a 2.5" SATA SSD?

2. Does this model come with the necessary 2.5" HDD mounting equipment and SATA connector? If not, what parts will I need to purchase and where can I purchase them?

Machine does support adding 2.5" standard HDD/SSD to its HDD bay (including Crucial HDD/SSD) BUT you need the following parts

• Hard drive cable:  spare part number L21894-001
• Hard drive rubber sleeve: spare part number L20103-001

Parts with prefix L are new and may not available to buy. You have to contact HP authorized service providers to get this upgrade.

Also note: the bay only supports 7mm (thickness) HDD's.
