Add 2nd hdd on probook 450 g5

good morning

in the bay of the 2.5-inch hdd is it possible to install a second hdd / sdd for data storage?

(the notebook is equipped with 512Gb ssd m2 in its slot.

Hello canbus,

Yes, you should be able to.

Steps to replacement are located on pages 43-44 of your computer's Maintenance and Service Guide.

Please also check HP's Service Media Library and go through the selection to see if your device has a video for hard drive installation. (I can't currently select any media from the site)

Hey do you know what brand and model of m2 ssd is your laptop using?

 (1) SAMSUNG MZVLW512HMJP-000H1 ORIGINAL INSTALLED FROM FACTORY

(2) Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB ADDED FOR DATA STORAGE

Ok thanks mate, tomorrow I am gona try a 970 Evo plus, hope it works as it cost the same to bring one of this from China as it cost the P961 to bring from the US.

I have added the second ssd,,, How do i get the laptop to recognise it, so it works ?

I have added the 2nd ssd “on the fly”!  FORMATTED!

restart your laptop and the 2nd ssd was detected automatically.

if the ssd are new goto in DISKMANAGER and prepare it.

the 2nd is located in the 2,5" bay.

When restarting my probook 450 g5 the BIOS detect AUTOMATICALLY the 2nd ssd and show it in resource of laptop and ue it without any problem.

any hdd/ssd was usable in the 2,5" bay
