Would I be able to add/upgrade the RAM on this laptop? It only has 4GB & runs slow for what we need. Should I just add a stick or upgrade both slots, based on the max allowable, assuming it has 2 slots & can handle up to 32GB, if I read correctly. If so, any suggestions on which brand/manufacturer is compatible to purchase on Amazon? Thanks in advance:)

The model number you give is generic. It refers to the entire series of laptops. The answer to your question will vary depending on if you have an Intel Core or one of the lower end processors. You can definitely upgrade from 4 gb regardless, but the speed of the memory and the capacity vary:
Here is how to find the exact model:

Hi CRS104,
It looks like that laptop might actually support up to 32GB. However it has the Pentium Silver processor in it so it is likely still going to be slower due to that alone. You may not be able to multitask with it very well with that processor. I personally wouldn't spend a massive amount maxing out the memory in that case, but if you can increase it to 8GB or 16GB, it should be compatible at that point, and should perform most basic tasks better. This is assuming that specific model has removable memory.
As far as brands, I would recommend sticking with a well known brand like Crucial, Samsung, or PNY. There are other brands that don't maintain quite the same quality control but you could get lucky with them as well. Search Amazon or other seller for DDR4-2400 MHz Non-ECC SODIMM.
Lastly, If you are unsure on how to perform the upgrade, you could potentially damage the internals of your computer. If that's the case, I would recommend taking it to a local reputable computer repair location and discuss it with them further.
EDIT: The link below is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the model group for your laptop. Section 5 outlines the removal and replacement of parts. I would recommend reviewing it before attempting repair yourself.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c08377737
It is a very low end machine which has 1 slot of RẠM All you can do is to replace its existing 4GB with a 8GB stick.for example
