Hi everyone,
I am running an HP Elitebook PC with a 4G ddr3 RAM but recently I use huge programs that consume too much RAM and my machine becomes so slow and even unusable so I decided to add a new 4G RAM erased from another machine HP Pavilion g6.
But I hesitated before doing that since I am not sure if that will work or will just damage my machine, I've never did such operation so I hope you guys may help me if what I am looking for is possible and I would be really thankful.
Thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.
Adding additional memory will most likely help things run better.
Whether or not it completely eliminates any issues you are having like magic, that may be a bit too hopeful.

Hi:
If the memory is the same spec as what is in your 8460p, it should work just fine.
The 8460p uses DDR3 memory and it runs at a speed of 1333 Mhz.
You can install a DDR3 or DDR3L memory chip that has a speed of 1333 MHz or 1600 MHz.

Thank you so much Paul, I wonder if adding new RAM to my elitebook will eliminate all the programs and applications already installed on my machine or just my RAM increases normally without influencing any of them ?
