I have 8GB RAM in my laptop and I want to increase my RAM. i have one slot of RAM empty . I don't know how much of RAM my laptop support. And how much it cost me at hp store? I am out of warranty. I search for RAM online but not found same model of RAM. Is it possible to add other brands RAM to my system?

Hi:

You can install other brands of compatible memory.

Chapter 1 of your notebook's service manual has the memory upgrade info.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook...

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial IN

The Crucial memory site indicates your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of memory, which is more than what HP indicates.

Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | hp omen 15 | HP OMEN 15-en0002ax | Crucial IN

You can do this to confirm how much memory your notebook can support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

I upgrade my laptop with 8 GB of crucial RAM to 16 GB but i feel like it's little bit slow now. what's the problem?

Unfortunately, I would have no idea why the notebook appears to be running slower with more memory.
