Hello, 

 

I need to add firewire to my laptop and would like to know what compatible devices are available. 

 

Would like to add to the SC port if possible. USB C adapter to firewire adapter seems like connectivity or speed issues may present themselves. 

 

Any help is appreciated.

Not sure what an SC port is. USB to firewire adapters do not work well for video capture. In fact I keep an older laptop with native firewire around for when I want to download video from my old video camera. Firewire has become a real problem. A pcie to firewire adapter works well in a desktop but no equivalent device for a laptop. A thunderbolt to firewire adapter works pretty well on Macs and would likely work for a PC that has a true Thunderbolt-enabled USB-C form factor port.
