Hello, I have an Envy 17 dx cr0013dx laptop and I want to know if it is possible to add a second hard drive. Does anyone here know anything about this?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi:

Your notebook has no option to install a 2.5" drive or install a 2nd NVMe SSD.

If you need more storage, you will have to replace the 512 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

Below is the link to the service manual.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

Chapter 5, page 42 has an illustration of the motherboard that shows the location of the single M.2 SSD.

It is located just below the two fans.

😭It's not the answer I was expecting... Anyway, thank you very much for your help.

You're very welcome.

Yes, I'm surprised that a relatively new HP 17" notebook doesn't come with support for two NVMe SSDs.

I know... Since 2005, all my laptops have been 17-inch HPs, and this is the first time I've had one without the possibility of adding a second drive.
