My new laptop HP 17z-cp000 came with 128gb HDD and had an empty spot where the hard drive should go. I'm out of memory and I've barely put anything in it. I bought a crucial MX500 2.5 SSD which said it was compatible. I was told I needed a cable L22526-001 Here lies the problem I don't see where it plugs in to. Also being that the spot for the SSD was empty did they forget to add something or is the HDD the hard drive? Do I just need to upgrade the HDD or do I need a different cable than was recommended or can this laptop be upgraded. I've looked a a bunch of videos but none deal with this exact model number or my particular issue. Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

I went to look up your Service Gide for that model, but it doesn't appear. Check this page out https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108 to get the specific Model number or Product ID of your laptop and we'll get you a Service Guide that will have that info. 17z-cp000 refers to a family of laptops with different configurations, whereas your specific laptop would still start with 17z-cp but would have specific numbers of your laptop at the end.
Off the top of my head, the small header on the mother board in between the touchpad cable and keyboard cable seems to be the header you are looking for. But to be sure we need to get the Service Guide.
