I have a 17-CP3005DX and I want to change my keyboard to a backlit keyboard. Part # for my non-backlit keyboard is N39375-001 (TOP COVER NSV WITH KB SGY US). I've found a possible backlit keyboard and the description is "Top Cover Upper Case Palmrest with US backlight keyboard for HP 17-CP 17-CN N39376-001 Silver". In this description where it says it's for a HP 17-CP does that really mean it's for all HP 17-CPs, including mine? The replacement part # is one digit off, a 6 instead of a 5 on the original non-backlit keyboard. In a way I guess it seems like the correct replacement part #, but I'm a little skeptical. HP PartSurfer has N39376-001 TOP COVER NSV WITH KB SGY BL US...the BL for BackLit I guess???
Thanks for any help with this!

Hi @PhreakyPhillip1,
Welcome to the HP support community.
You're correct in noting the difference between N39375-001 (your current non-backlit keyboard) and N39376-001, which is listed as a backlit version. And yes, in HP’s part naming, “BL” typically refers to “Backlit.”
While both part numbers are extremely similar, not all HP 17-CP series devices are wired to support backlit keyboards, even if the physical part fits. Some motherboards don’t have the connector or power line for the backlight function to work.
