I have a basic version of HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 with 8GB of RAM (4 soldered down and one 4GB plank DDR3 SK Hynix HMT451B6AFR8A) and i want upgrade it. I want to replace my 4GB plank with 8GB, but I don't know which one. Because I heard, that this laptop doesn't support double-sided RAM, and most 8GB DDR3(L) planks are exactly like that. So if you know, tell me please some 8GB RAM plank model that can I use...
Thanks in advance) Regards...

The Maintenance and Service Guide says:
One service provider-accessible/upgradable memory module slot
4-GB memory integrated into system board
DDR3L PC3L-12800-(1600 MHz) dual channel support
NOTE: DDR3 memory is not supported. Only DDR3L memory is supported.
Supports 8-GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 8-GB (4-GB integrated + 4-GB SODIMM)
● 4-GB (4-GB integrated)
By some reasons, HP does not offer 8GB module, only 4GB module part # 747221-005. Crucial does not offer any.
Machine already has Hynix RAM, please try
Regards.

The model you are proposing is double-side ("2 ranks"). I have a following sticker on the RAM slot:
Are you sure, that https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hynix-8GB-1600-Mhz-DDR3L-Laptop-RAM-PC3L-12800S-Low-Voltage/183717446003... is will help me?

Double sided modules won't work, even if you manage to get it into the slot it will show you an error saying that the module is not compatible.
Edit: It seems that BIOS version 1.30 allows the use of double-sided modules, it is not recommended though and can damage your hardware.
