Hello.
I am planning to buy an
HP Pavilion - 15-cs0025cl laptop. Does it have an m.2 slot?
If yes, can I add it in addition to its existing 1T SATS HD? So, I could start and operate computer from SSD and keep HD as a backup? What maximum SSD it can take?
Also, is RAM upgredable in this laptop? It comes with 16 GB RAM. Can I increase it and does it make sense : ) ?
Thank you very much

This is what I installed on mine laptop..
Its super fast and Samsung provide you the software to migrate the old OS to the new NVME drive...Its free to download from Samsung website. Install the software before you open the back cover..Also make sure you select or add the recovery drive section during the migration selection option. Otherwise the software will only copy the main OS and not the recovery partition.

@Misharey
Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I see you need help in upgrading the SSD, on HP Pavilion - 15-cs0025cl notebook. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you in purchasing the right configuration computer.
After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that this specific model has 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive installed on the PC.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to go through the Maintenance and Service guide of your HP notebook, and found that your PC supports One M.2 slot for the solid-state drive.
These are compatible and tested solid state drive available for your PC.
For a detailed study, please go through Page 4 Chapter 1. Product Description.
For the spare part number, please go through Page 20 Chapter 3 Illustrated parts catalogue.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

A: yes it does hold a PCIe slot for the NVME M.2 Hard drive..You will need to open the bottom cover and install the NVME stick and then image the current HD to the new NVME drive. Then you will need to disable the old drive from booting up in the BIOS or erase the old drive after the OS and its recovery drive have been copy to the new NVME one. When all this is doen then you can use the crappy 1T SATA drive for storage (i had this same drive on mine laptop..took forever to boot or run anything)..
Also, is RAM upgredable in this laptop? It comes with 16 GB RAM. Can I increase it and does it make sense : ) ?
A: 16GB of rams is good...you don't really more than that unless you are doing a lot of high intense graphic processing..it will help but not much...

Thank you for posting back.
To get the answer to this question, and find out what is going on in the package please refer to Product specifications, also it would be best for you to refer to the Maintenance and Service guide to know more on product upgrade.
Note: There are Two SODIMM memory module slots and it supports up to 16-GB of system memory.
Supports the following conƭgurations:
- 16384 MB (8192 MB×2)
- 12288 MB (8192 MB×1 + 4096 MB×1)
- 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 or 4096 MB×2)
- 6144 MB (4096 MB×1 + 2048 MB×1)
- 4096 MB (4096 MB×1)
Hope this helps!

Thank you Peter.
I have one more question. When I checked a diagram of SSD in HP Maintenance guide the SSD has two cuts on the contact side, but the SSD you advised has one. Does it make any difference?
Thank you

Hi,
Well Happy Thanksgiving... If you got two cut outs on the SSD slot then you can't used the Nvme drive that I show you.. You will need to buy the regular SSD drive.. Anyone that doesn't have the Nvme on it.. But I think your should hold a PCIE slot in it...
Sorry I will have to look at it later again.. Having Thanksgiving today.

HI,
I just looked at the manual again and it show the SSD card with the two notches on it. A regular SSD card will have two notches in it...but the slot that it goes into I am pretty sure is an PCIE slot...a M.2 SATA SSD card with two notches in it will work in a PCIE slot, but you will only get the speed of an SSD drive...The manual listed the the 512 and 256 GB PCIE cards which is the NVME drive...It list the PCIE mean it has to suppport the NVME card..I am pretty sure this laptop has the PCIE slot in it..Its a new laptop.
