So Brandy did it work for you?

Invalid what model do you have, I think that's the crux of the issue here.

According to the guide, he has a M9X67AV; which is a 17t-n100--different model than that of the original post (m7-n109dx).

As I suspected.And as you have found out in all your research Sound, our machines the Mdl n109dx does not carry the same bios as the Mdl Invaild has. Therefore once again I ask HP directly are you going to release a BIOS to support the M.2 Slot on the MODEL M7-N109DX.

If the BIOS is restricting the use of the M.2 port, and there is no new BIOS available...?

@Cloud_1

That's correct! The issue is not necessarily the model, it is the mainboard/motherboard that our model has; which is the 80E6. I have not come across anyone that has a functioning M.2 port on an 80E6 motherboard--it seems like the m7-n109dx is the only model that has the 80E6 motherboard, but I cannot confirm that.

@brandycmc

The BIOS is not set to utilize the M.2 port on the m7-n109dx, and unfortunately, not one of the BIOS's have had the fix included. I doubt that HP will ever enable the M.2 port for this machine. I have personally spoke with many escalated customer service personell, and their position is that the m7-n109dx does not have a SSD listed in the specifications; therefore, there is nothing they will do to "add" it.

Hi hp envy 17-n104na has 80E6 as well , and the adata sp900 256gb on m2 is not seen by the bios...:(

Bylku,

     That is the same issue we are having on the N109dx....so guess its all about the HP to pick up thier dropped ball and help us out. Why would you not want your reputation to be increased tenfold?

I have contacted the HP support line in Poland, and it was clearly stated by the representative that "we" I assume that only HP Poland and  not the whole HP is not supporting the laptops hardware upgrade and he can not help me with me issue (common problem that envy does not see the m2 ssd). Maybe the US HP support is more helpfull and can do something with the issue of envy 17 board 80E6 to recognize the ssd on m.2 port.

I am also upgrading my M7 N109dx with an ADATA 480SSD to compliment the existing 1tb hdd and thoughts on how to set up the migration end?
