I have the 14-cf0052od. It came with a 120GB ssd (presumably a m.2) and I need more storage (Diablo 4 is 77GB, and the device only has 52GB available). If the laptop had a USB 3 (blue) I'd pop in a flash drive, move the existing Diablo 3 to run off of that, and then install D4 on the internal drive. Running games on a USB 2 isn't advised. An additional ssd or upgrading the m.2 seem to be the only choices. I'd rather not mess with the m.2 and I actually have a brand new 256gb 2.5" ssd so it seems like an easy choice.
What I'm not finding is explicit instructions on adding a 2.5" ssd to the 14-cf0052od. In all the videos I've seen adding the drive is mentioned, and that additional hardware is needed (i'm guessing a mounting plate and cable) or it's not even discussed in the video.
Can someone share *exactly* what is necessary to add a 2.5" ssd to the 14-cf0052od? Does it even need a mounting plate as there are no moving parts? I thought I'd simply stick the ssd in place with some monkey grip tape. The manual, which I found here, doesn't seem to talk about adding a 2.5" inch either.
Someone's got to know this stuff... 😄
