For my CAD software I have a USB license key dongle (Sentinel) which I have to plug in each time I want to use the software.
I would like to try and store the dongle away on the inside of the laptop while being connected.
Looking at the inside, there is definitly enough room. I would put the dongle where the SATA HDD would go and I was looking at some adapters to be able to connect the dongle to the motherboard. Specifically I would add a male to male SATA 22 pin adapter(https://www.amazon.co.uk/2-5inch-extension-convertor-Straight-adapter/dp/B00S6HTVGI), with another SATA to eSATAp/USB adapter (https://usb.brando.com/power-over-esata-to-sata-adapter_p2905c42d15.html) .
Would that work? Or are there better ways to connect a USB device internally on the laptop?
All suggestions are welcome 🙂
