@Nnylg, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, you can adjust the CPU speed on your HP Spectre x360 15-df1010na (EB0053dx) to improve performance after the BIOS update. Here are some options to tweak CPU performance:
Check BIOS Settings
- Enter BIOS (Press F10 at startup).
- Look for CPU Performance Mode or Intel SpeedStep and enable it.
- If Intel Turbo Boost is disabled, enable it.
Adjust Power Plan in Windows
- Open Control Panel > Power Options
- Select High Performance or Ultimate Performance (if available).
- Click Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings
- Expand Processor Power Management
- Set Minimum Processor State to 100%
- Set Maximum Processor State to 100%
Check Intel Throttle or Thermal Limits
The BIOS update may have applied thermal throttling settings to keep temperatures low. You can override some of these limits using:
- ThrottleStop (Allows undervolting and power limit adjustments)
- Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) (Modify power limits and Turbo Boost settings)
Check CPU Throttling with HWMonitor or HWiNFO
- Install HWiNFO or HWMonitor and check:
- Current CPU Clock Speed (See if it's underclocked)
- Power Limit Throttling (PL1/PL2 values)
- Thermal Throttling
Roll Back to the Previous BIOS (If Necessary)
If the performance drop is significant, rolling back to the previous BIOS may help:
- Download the previous BIOS from HP support website
- Use HP BIOS Recovery Tool to downgrade
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
