Hi @SreeKrishna1122,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

Below are two methods to do this. The first method using HP's built-in tools is recommended for best results.

Method 1: Using HP Diagnostic Tools (Recommended)

Part 1: Discharging the Battery

  1. 1. Disconnect the AC power adapter.
  2. 2. Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ensure the computer is fully off.
  3. 3. Turn the computer on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (about once per second).
  4. 4. When the Startup Menu appears, press the F2 key to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics menu.
  5. 5. In the main menu, click Component Tests, then select Battery.
  6. 6. On the Battery Test page, click Run once. After the initial test, click Calibrate Battery.
  7. 7. On the next screen, click Start Calibration and follow any on-screen prompts.

The tool will now drain the battery, which can take several hours. The PC will shut down automatically when finished.

Part 2: Recharging the Battery

  1. 1. Once the computer has shut itself off, plug the AC adapter back in.
  2. 2. Let the battery charge fully to 100%. This typically takes about 4 hours. Do not use the computer during this period.
  3. 3. After the battery reaches 100%, keep it plugged in and wait for 2 more hours before using it.

The battery is now calibrated.

Method 2: Basic Manual Cycle

  1. 1. Charge to 100%: Fully charge the laptop battery to 100%.
  2. 2. Discharge to 0%: Unplug the charger and use the laptop normally until the battery drains completely and the laptop shuts down on its own.
  3. 3. Recharge Fully: Plug the charger back in and let the battery fully recharge to 100%, ideally without turning the laptop on.
  4. 4. Power On: Once it's fully charged, you can turn on and use the laptop.
  5. 5. Repeat: For best results, it is recommended to repeat this full charge/discharge process upto 3 times.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
