Laptop has been in support to get a new motherboard (keyboard stopped working, wifi stopped working). Now 1 year later: wifi stopped working again. After restart it works for about a minute and then it just looses it
Updated drivers, bios, etc. No effect. Somehow warranty is over (i hoped it was renewed after the previous motherboard change). I think this is just a faulty batch. Please advise: with solutions or telephone I can call to explain this.

@RaymondLT, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with recurring Wi-Fi issues, especially after a motherboard replacement. Let's work through this together.
Check Device Manager for Wi-Fi Adapter Status
- Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- Look for your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek, Intel).
- Right-click → Properties → Check Device status under the General tab.
If it says “This device is working properly,” proceed to the next steps.
Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi Adapter
Sometimes Windows disables the adapter to save power.
- In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck: “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
- Click OK and restart your PC.
Reset Network Settings
This clears any corrupted network configurations.
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset.
- Click Reset now.
- Restart your PC.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)
This will check if the Wi-Fi hardware is failing.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly → Press F2 for System Diagnostics.
- Choose Component Tests → Network → Run the test.
Update Wi-Fi Driver from HP Website
Even if you’ve updated drivers via Windows, try the OEM version:
- Visit: Official HP® Support
- Enter your product number.
- Download the latest Wi-Fi driver under Driver-Network.
- Install and restart.
Check for Windows Conflicts
- Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and check if Wi-Fi stays connected.
- If it works fine in Safe Mode, a third-party app or service might be interfering.
If the issue persists:
It could be a hardware fault, in that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - Nederland | HP® ondersteuning
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
