hello, I have a new HP notebook and need to detect the battery even though shut down, so loses 8% charge per day. I'm afraid that when I'm on holiday for 14 days, the battery is deep and broken. Is there a solution against the constant discharge or do I better return the HP notebook ??
I've now stopped and deactivated all HP services, let's see if that helps.
Update: I have completely redesigned Windows without the various HP services and the problem seems to be solved.
But I have one more question:
If there is an alternative BIOS for the device, I miss the function :USB Wake up; but very much.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Sometimes hp battery drain after shutdown may be caused by the quick startup. This feature combines the shutdown and hibernation features to get your PC up and start fast. But it can cause battery drain even when the PC is turned off. And, also the Laptop battery drains to 0% while powered off this is a fairly common problem.
Let's try this: Turn on or off fast boot
- Right-click on the battery icon in the lower right corner and select "Power Options"
- select the "What the power button do".
- Click "Change settings that are currently unavailable."
- Disable the "Turn on fast startup(Recommended)" option and click the "Save Changes".
Learn how to get the most service and life from your HP notebook battery by following these industry-wide suggested best practices.
