Is there any way to make Ethernet port work on USB-C Dock G5 on Macbook? I know that HP is not providing drivers, but would like to know if there is any workaround?
Thanks a million to anybody who has an idea. 🙂
Pavel.

Making 3rd party hardware work with the Mac OS is a nightmare. Here is a discussion on a Mac Forum about a similar situation:

I do not have that exact USB-C Hub but I have run into situations where I had to manually add the network interface in the Network System Preferences.
Click the + button on the lower left and see if the USB interface shows in the list where I underlined WiFi. It will typically show as USB 10/100/100 or something similar.

Ok. I just got my G5 USB-C dock to test. And yup..you have to manually add the port in the Network Preferences. After that it seems to be content. Click on the "+" on the lower left and select the LAN adapter. It's labelled "USB 10/100/1000 LAN". Then select Create. It should then show in them list on the left.
Plug in the cable and configure as desired.
