PQB04

Hello,
It's difficult to definitively identify a specific MOSFET like PQB04 on a laptop motherboard without a schematic or clear markings on the component itself. "PQB04" is a board designator, indicating its position on the motherboard, not the part number of the MOSFET.
However, based on common laptop power circuit designs and some forum discussions regarding similar HP Omen motherboards (LA-J662P), here's what we can infer and how to proceed:
Possible MOSFET Types and Locations:
Power Delivery: MOSFETs like PQB04 are typically part of the power delivery system for the CPU, GPU, or other major components (e.g., VCCST, VCCIO, Vcore, VGFX, RAM power).
Common Laptop MOSFETs: Laptop motherboards frequently use N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs in various packages (like QFN, DFN, SOIC). Common manufacturers include Alpha & Omega Semiconductor (AOZ series), Renesas, Texas Instruments, etc. catsounds
Voltage Regulator Modules (VRMs): Often, these MOSFETs work in conjunction with a PWM controller IC to regulate voltage. If PQB04 is part of a VRM, there might be other similar MOSFETs nearby.
Best Regards

Hi @Irfan-1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for your question about the MOSFET labelled PQB04 on the HP Omen 15-dh1005na motherboard (LA-J662P / N18E platform).
Based on the image you've provided, the component marked PQB04 shows the following text:
This marking is not a standard part number but rather a top-side manufacturer code, often used for internal inventory tracking. Unfortunately, this makes identifying the exact specs and finding a reliable replacement nearly impossible without access to HP's proprietary schematics or a known-good donor board.
This MOSFET is part of the mainboard's power regulation system, and HP does not provide individual part specifications for components like PQB04. As such:
💡 The only reliable and safe solution is to replace the entire motherboard.
Attempting to replace just the MOSFET without a matching verified part number and full specs could:
- Damage the board further
- Causes unstable power delivery
- Risk shorting CPU, GPU, or battery systems
Let me know if you would like to replace the whole board, so we can get all the help
I hope this answers.
Take care and have a good day.
