Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two very similar laptops in less than ideal status.

HP Spectre x360 (v13-4102dx)

- cracked screen, appears to be glass only but touch is not currently working

- battery doesn't work

HP Spectre x360 (13-4102tu)

- won't charge consistently, believed to be port problem.

If I were to take these computers to a shop, would they hypothetically be able to use pieces from both in order to pull together a single functioning laptop?

@ChiGirl226,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand you need information and assistance related to your HP notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I"ll need a few more details:

Have you tried to contact our HP phone support for assistance?

If the issue occurred after an accident (such as dropping it on the floor, etc.) there could be a additional charges in such cases to get the computer repaired via HP service centers.

Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if the notebook powers on?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

HP Spectre x360 (13-4102tu) - If you have already tried with an alternate charger and still having issues, I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure with the PC. Please check my private message to have this issue sorted.

Regarding the HP Spectre x360 (v13-4102dx) for Cracked screen.

Here's the Product specifications - Your PC is shipped with  13.3-inch diagonal Radiance Full HD (33) Infinity LED-backlit IPS touchscreen display (1920x1080) - Display.

Here's the Maintenance and Service guide of your notebook - Please find here the parts which are compatible and tested on your PC.

If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.

Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).

If you find difficulty replacing the part, I will share you a private message with details. Please watch your inbox for more information.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
